Recently, with the last column of all-titanium drill pipe from the wellhead, the all-titanium drill pipe developed by the Bohai Drilling Engineering Institute successfully passed the test of the downhole harsh working conditions, and the field application was a great success. This is also the first batch of all-titanium drill pipe in China to start the well test and the first battle is successful.
At the beginning of 2017, the institute set up a research and development team for titanium alloy pipe fittings with experts and doctors as the basis for integrating the existing titanium alloy pipe tools. Actively carried out research on a number of cutting-edge technologies such as titanium alloy pipe-piercing technology, friction welding technology of titanium alloy pipe and joints, and performance testing technology of all-titanium drill pipe. Compared with the steel drill pipe of the same specification, the all-titanium drill pipe has strong corrosion resistance, and has special properties such as corrosion against hydrogen sulfide, carbon dioxide and chloride ions at an ambient temperature of 330 degrees Celsius or less; light weight and the same strength condition The weight of the drill pipe is reduced by 43%; the toughness is good, and it can work in short-radius horizontal wells with a radius of curvature of less than 30 meters; the fatigue life is long, the fatigue life in the air environment is 10 times that of the steel drill pipe, and the fatigue life in the corrosive environment It is 100 times of steel drill pipe; it has good thermal stability and can work for a long time at 400~500 degrees Celsius.
The successful application of the all-titanium drill pipe on site indicates that the institute has mastered the precious technology of manufacturing, testing and application of all-titanium drill pipe, and is at the forefront of the development of titanium alloy pipe fittings in the world.
