The first industrial application test of isomerization catalyst, after 72 hours of test calibration, all performance indicators have reached the level of similar foreign catalysts, marking the substantial breakthrough of PetroChina in the research and development and industrial production of light olefin skeletal isomerization catalysts. , filled the domestic gap. With the increasing environmental protection requirements and environmental awareness, automotive gasoline is gradually developing toward clean gasoline with low sulfur, low aromatics, low olefin, low vapor pressure and high octane number.

This led to the rapid development of the preparation of methyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE) and methyl tert-amyl ether (TAME) by light gasoline etherification technology, and as a raw material in the usual fluid catalytic cracking (FCC) unit. The sources of carbon tetra (electronic.movie.blog) and carbon five (C5) olefins have also become particularly important. Therefore, the isomerization of normal olefins to produce isomeric olefins has high economic value. The key to olefin skeletal isomerization is the choice of isomerization catalyst. The technology of the carbon five (C5) olefin skeletal isomerization catalyst is mainly in the hands of a few foreign companies, and the imported catalyst is expensive. In order to develop a light olefin skeletal isomerization catalyst to replace imported catalysts, reduce the operating costs of related imported devices, increase the production of high-octane tertiary alkyl ethers, and improve the economic benefits of refineries. Wuhuan was founded by Dr. Xu Yarong. The special research team started the exploratory research on new catalyst preparation and process in 2014.

There are no mature carbon tetra(C4) and carbon five (C5) olefin skeletal isomerization catalysts and process technologies in China. In the face of difficulties, the research team used the improved catalyst formula as a breakthrough. On the one hand, it optimized the formulation research of the catalyst raw materials, and on the other hand, improved the catalyst raw material preparation technology. At the end of 2016, the catalyst research and development achieved a major breakthrough, and it has the conditions for industrial testing. Through the evaluation of catalyst activity in laboratory mode in the first half of 2017, C5 normal olefin isomerization and production of activated olefin catalyst reached the level of similar imported catalyst in laboratory evaluation, entered the industrial test preparation stage, and at the end of July in the light gasoline etherification unit The post-ether C5 isomerization unit was used to evaluate the performance of the catalyst. After repeated trials and verifications, the catalyst was tested on the model test device for more than 4,000 hours, and the performance was stable, which provided a strong technical support for the upgrading and efficiency of China’s petroleum refining business.

The personnel of the Wuhua Petrochemical Group introduced that the isomerization conversion rate of C5 olefins of the new catalyst reached over 70%, and the initial reaction temperature of the catalyst was low and the stability was good. This technology has applied for 3 invention patents and 3 technical secrets. They will further study the properties and catalytic properties of the molecular sieve material structure, and lay a technical foundation for the popularization and application of olefin skeletal isomerization catalysts.
